I grew up in New York City and have lived in London, Istanbul, and Los Angeles. I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College for undergraduate studies, and Columbia University for Graduate School. I received my teaching credential in 2002. I have taught writing at the Los Angeles Unified School District, the University of Southern California, Cal State LA, The University of the West, and in the certificated program at UCLA. I have been a technical writer at USC's Viterbi School of Engineering, as well as a copywriter for various start-ups.
As a professor and writing consultant for over 20 years, my job has been to help individuals communicate effectively so they can achieve their academic and/or career goals. Whether it be a college application essay, a dissertation, or a grant proposal, the end result will be a piece of writing done with clarity, intelligence, and authenticity.
