Rhetorical precision is very important for academic writing, and it is especially challenging for international students and professionals. Deirdre was incredibly patient and efficient with my revisions. She helped not only with my Personal Statements but also with my short stories since I was applying for an MFA degree in film directing. She tweaked my wording and explained the culture to me to make my stories flow authentically to the readers. With her effective revisions of my application materials, I was successfully enrolled at my dream institute, AFI Conservatory.

 Since English was not my main language --I was born in Russia-- I wasn't able to write essays that would be interesting to read. But then, one of my close friends recommended me to take a couple of lessons with Deirdre to develop my writing skills. At first, classes with her were a bit difficult for me, but after a few lessons I became much more confident in my writing. She always lucidly explained the material and even if I didn't understand something, she was always ready to answer any of my questions. Thanks to Deirdre’s efforts, I was able to get into all ten of the  colleges I applied to and will be starting an engineering program in the fall at Polytechnic school at Arizona State University, the school I always wanted to go to.
